The idea is simple, to travel 90 days trough Europe with my best friend (Julio), The goal to complete the tasks people gave us during the fund raising period.
I just wanted to let you know that soon, we will be moving the official website of the project to www.diariomochilero.com which is going to be the official website of the trip, where we will be updating you daily if Internet Access allows us to do it with pictures and videos.
We have finally our departure date after looking for flights for quite a while and waiting for more sponsors for the trip. We arrive in Brussels on July 24th. Looking forward to see you on the other side :)
First of all... thank you to all that people that already donate money, to the ones that are planning to do it, and to the ones that are following the project and giving us the strength to complete it.
From now on, we will put the tasks of the people that is donating money on this post for you guys to know and to get some ideas yourself. We will give people an opportunity to change their tasks since they are having troubles deciding what they want us to do, and we really would like to do something you find fun and that you really want. People will be able to change their minds only once and before May 31st.
1. Silvia H from Guatemala:
Location - Barcelona, Spain
Task - Find a way to get into a training day of The Barcelona Football Club Team to meet the players and get autographs for Silvia. (Thank God I'm not a Real Madrid fan).
2. Emilie M from France
Location - Paris, France Task - Using the Velibeb Bicycles we need to travel across Paris. This might seem simple but we cant pay for the bicycles, so in order for them to be free we can only spend 30 minutes on each leg to get the next free Velibeb. And if to that you add the fact that Julio broke his arm last time he was in a bicycle two weeks ago and I haven't been in one in 15 years it might get quite interesting :)
3. Sebastian M from Switzerland
Location - Zurich, Switzerland Task - Go over there and organize a party for Sebas and his friends that they will never forget! Or perhaps will forget because they will drink too much but we will make sure to take pics. Guys, we are already planning something epic for this one!! Get ready!!
4. Lucille M from France
Location - Every Country we visit in Europe Task - To cook a traditional meal of every country we will visit in Europe. This will be an exception of doing different tasks in different places since we were not very clear with the rules hehehe.... but we love this one!.... Julio loves to cook and I might finally learn something! :) Thanks for this interesting task and let us know people if you would like to share your kitchens and recipes with us along the way.
5. Mathilde B from Spain
Location - Manresa, Spain Task - Our dear Mathilde has problems getting her house clean so she is asking for our help. We will clean her house with emphasis in the windows since it seems they want a bit more of sun in the house (We forgot to ask if she lives in a building and she want them clean from the outside mmmm... ). And she wants that while we clean her house we use some traditional clothing from her location to do it a little bit more cultural. We are your guys Mathilde!
6. Dennise M from France Location - Esvres, France Task - Dennise want us to go to her home in Esvres and help her with her Bee Farm. We will have to help with the whole process of getting the honey and finish the task by selling it to the local people which is going to be fun considering we do not speak French. I was talking with Julio about this task and we realize we don't know if we are allergic to bees... and we hope not to find out on this trip.
7. Ben P. from the United States
Location - England, France or Belgium
Task- Take a swimm in The English Channel ( in which country should we do it??)
8. Maud & Christophe from France
Location - Paris, France
Task - We need to go during the lovely summer in Paris to the shore of " La Seine" River, and ask some locals to teach us and let us play for an afternoon the lovely game of "Petanque". Maud & Christophe did not ask us to win a game as part of the task, but since we are competitive and pride latin boys, we promise to win at least one game... how difficult can it be? :/
8. Marc A. from France
Location - Blois, France
Task - Marc invite us to spend a day and night with him as his boyfriend. We will discover, learn and share the life of a gay couple. Great isn't? We are really looking forward for this task, it will be a lovely experience for us, and it will be something great to share with everybody that will follow our trip.
9. Sonja P. from the United States
Location - Stuibenfalle, Austria
Task- Not only we get to discover a lovely place like Stuibenfalle in one of my favorite countries (Pampa and Im sure Julio will love the place once he gets there as well.. hehehe), but we get to spend a lovely day with our guide Sonja.
10. Julia F. from Germany
Location - Fussen, Germany
Task - Here is the chance we were waiting to become famous, we will get to DJ (some really cool latin music) at a local pub in Fussen. So if you are in town or near by don't miss the chance to see us in action... we promise you one thing, we will make you jump and dance ;)
11. Reno B. from France
Location - Probably France
Task- We are waiting ;)
12. Marie C. from France
Location - Tours, France
Task - Something related with Ping Pong... we are waiting for the details :)
13. Cecile from France
Location - Somewhere in France
Task - we are waiting as well ;)
14. Bozena C. from Poland
Location - Katowice, Poland
Task - She is giving it some thoughts... First task in poland, we are excited :) anyone else?
This are the tasks we need to complete in our trip and we are waiting for more. What are you waiting for? ;)
The idea is simple, to travel 90 days trough Europe with my best friend (Julio), The goal to complete the tasks people gave us during the fund raising period.
The trip starts in July 23th and ends in October 20th 2010.
THE TASKS
The Tasks will consist in different types of challenges that people who donate money will give us... such tasks might overcome the capacity we will have to complete them in 90 days in which case we will choose the most interesting, fun and original ideas.
The tasks can be pretty much anything that comes to your mind, for example if you want us to paint your house we will travel all the way there to do it, if you want us to sing at your cousins wedding we can do it, if you need us to go out with you at night and get you a date you can count on us, if you want to see us running a marathon in your city well... we can try.
Is up to you guys and just try to avoid things that will make our mums worry or get us in jail (we would not last 12 hours inside).
The location of the tasks needs to be in Europe.
THE FUND RAISING
We will set a 4 month period to do a fund raising for this trip, the money that people donate will be use in big part for the plane tickets from Guatemala to Europe, the rest of the money will be use for food and transportation if needed since we are planning to hitch hike most of the way and pay for transportation only if it is for purposes to complete one of the tasks.
We will not pay for accommodation, instead we will stay with friends or look for people willing to give us a place to crash for a night or two, or if needed we will camp on the road when we have to.
Part of the money will be used for equipment to film the trip.
THE FEEDBACK
And of course for all the people that will help us and that would like to know what are we up to on this trip, we will upload videos and photographs to keep you updated.
At the end of the trip we will put all the footage together to make a series, that we would like to air in a national tv channel and of course we will send you a SURPRISE at the end of the trip with as BIG THANK YOU for all your help since without you this will not be possible.
And last but not least...
WHO WE ARE
Most people call me Pampa and I was born in Guatemala while Julio is Argentinean and is been living in my country for the last 4 years.
We met here after his arrival while working in the same bar, were we became good friends and room mates and now we are working really hard to make our dream come true to build a live music production company.
During the next months we will try to let you know more about us, we will try to make all of you part of our lifes, so you get to know us better in case you don't yet.
On the meantime you are welcome to join us in Facebook, were we will be able to keep you guys updated with news about the Project: 90 days in Europe
